Walter Isaacson

Walter Isaacson is a veteran of print and broadcast journalism. Former chairman and CEO of CNN, Isaacson began his career in journalism at The Sunday Times of London and the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Starting in 1978, Isaacson was a correspondent, then a national editor, then an editor of digital media at TIME, all before becoming the magazine’s editor in 1996. He moved on to head CNN in 2001 and became president and CEO of the Aspen Institute in 2003. He was appointed to the position of chairman of the Broadcasting Board of Governors by President Barack Obama, a position Isaacson held from 2009 to 2012. He is currently a professor of history at Tulane University. He is also the author of a number of books, including Einstein: His Life and Universe (2007), Steve Jobs (2011), and The Innovators: How a Group of Hackers, Geniuses, and Geeks Created the Digital Revolution (2014). His latest book is a biography, Leonardo da Vinci
