Steven Pinker

Steven Pinker has built a world-renowned, decades-long career of figuring out how the human mind works. He is currently the Johnstone Family Professor in the Department of Psychology at Harvard, where he conducts research on psycholinguistics and visual cognition. He has also taught at MIT and Stanford. Pinker contributes to major publications like the New York Times and The Atlantic and is the author of ten books. Two of his books, How the Mind Works (1997) and The Blank Slate: The Modern Denial of Human Nature (2003), were finalists for the Pulitzer Prize. Pinker has received nine honorary doctorates, has been named Humanist of the Year, and is an elected member of  the National Academy of Sciences. His latest book is Enlightenment Now: The Case for Reason, Science, Humanism, and Progress.
