Shira Springer

Shira Springer covers stories at the intersection of sports and society for NPR and WBUR. She also writes regular columns on women’s sports for the Boston Globe and The Sports Business Journal and feature stories for The Boston Globe Sunday Magazine and other publications. She has written for the Globe for more than twenty years. Springer contributed to the essay collection Our Boston: Writers Celebrate the City They Love, and she wrote about the 1936 Berlin Olympics for the recently published anthology Upon Further Review: The Greatest What-Ifs in Sports History. In addition to writing and working in public radio, Springer teaches sports journalism at Boston University.
