Penny Noyce is a doctor, educator, and author of twelve books for young people. She grew up in Silicon Valley, studied biochemistry at Harvard and medicine at Stanford, and did her medical residency in Minneapolis before moving to the Boston area. For twenty-five years she served as a founding trustee of the Noyce Foundation, which supported efforts to improve mathematics and science education nationwide.
