Maryanne Wolf

Maryanne Wolf is an award-winning cognitive neuroscientist and child development expert who has devoted her career to studying how humans read and think. The author of more than 150 scientific publications, Wolf also writes compellingly for a general audience; her 2007 book Proust and the Squid: The Story and Science of the Reading Brain won several awards and has been translated into 13 languages. Wolf is also the author of Reading in the Brain and, most recently, Reader, Come Home: The Reading Brain in a Digital World, which is structured as a series of letters to readers about how the switch to digital media is affecting reading processes and cognitive processing. In a starred review, Publishers Weekly calls Reader, Come Home "a clarion call for parents, educators, and technology developers to work to retain the benefits of reading independent of digital media."
