Laura Andersen

Laura Andersen is the author of award-winning novels of historical romance and intrigue. She started writing seriously in 2003 on a dare from a friend, and eventually set herself the goal of getting published by the age of forty—she missed that goal by only four years. Her debut, The Boleyn King, was published in 2013 and reimagines what history might have been like if Anne Boleyn had given birth to a son. It won the 2013 Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Award for best historical fiction. The Boleyn Deceit (2013) and The Boleyn Reckoning (2014) finished the trilogy. Next, Andersen asked “What if?” in the story of Queen Elizabeth I—her Tudor Legacy trilogy explores history if the Virgin Queen had had a legitimate heir (The Virgin’s Daughter, The Virgin’s Spy, The Virgin’s War). Her latest is The Darkling Bride, which uncovers the deeply held secrets of the Gallagher family of Deeprath Castle in Ireland. Andersen lives in Massachusetts with her husband and four children.
