Julie Carr

Julie Carr is an award-winning author of poetry and prose, as well as the cofounder of Counterpath Press. Her poems and essays have appeared in such journals as The Nation, Boston Review, APR, New American Writing, Denver Quarterly, Volt, A Public Space, 1913, and The Baffler, as well as in numerous anthologies. Carr's honors and awards include The Sawtooth Poetry Award, A National Poetry Series selection, and a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship (2010-2011). Her latest books are a poetry collection, Real Life: An Installation, and a collection of essays, Someone Shot My Book, which focuses on the role of poetry and art in a violent culture.
