Jonathan Weiler is an educator and academic and a nonfiction writer and sports blogger. Since 2005, Weiler has taught at the University of North Carolina, where he has taught courses on European politics, human rights, and Russian politics. He is also the director of Graduate Studies and Global Studies at UNC. He is the author of several books: Human Rights in Russia: A Darker Side of Reform (2004); Authoritarianism and Polarization in American Politics, written with Marc Hetherington (2009); and Divorce: A Love Story (2015), a memoir of divorce written with his ex-wife, Anne Menkens. Weiler blogged for the Huffington Post from 2009 to 2015, and he currently blogs about sports media for The ESPN Watch. His latest book is Prius Or Pickup? How the Answers to Four Simple Questions Explain America’s Great Divide, written again with Marc Hetherington.
