James K. Sebenius

James K. Sebenius is an expert in negotiation. For decades, he has been a leader in teaching the art of negotiation at the Harvard Business School and Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard. At the Belfer Center, Sebenius is currently a faculty affiliate and the director of the American Secretaries of State Project. He also holds the Gordon Donaldson Professorship of Business Administration at Harvard Business School and directs the Harvard Negotiation Project. Earlier in his career, he led the initiative to include negotiation as a requirement in the MBA program at the Harvard Business School and also cofounded the Negotiation Roundtable program. He is the author of a number of books, including 3-D Negotiation: Powerful Tools to Change the Game in Your Most Important Deals (2006), written with David A. Lax, and Negotiation (2001), written with a number of other authors. His latest book is Kissinger the Negotiator: Lessons from Dealmaking at the Highest Level.
