Hubert Haddad

Hubert Haddad is a poet, playwright, short story writer and novelist. Born in Tunisia, he began publishing in 1967 with his first collection of poems, Le Charnier déductif. Haddad is the recipient of the Grand Prix du Roman de la Société des Gens de Lettres and the Prix des Cinq Continents de la Francophonie. Four of Haddad’s works have been translated into English: Palestine, Opium Poppy, Rochester Knockings: a Novel of the Fox Sisters, and, most recently, Desirable Body, a novel that brings the story of Frankenstein into our time.
