Howard Bryant

Howard Bryant is a senior writer for ESPN.com and ESPN magazine, and he regularly appears on ESPN TV programming, including SportsCenter and Outside the Lines. He is the sports correspondent for NPR's Weekend Edition Saturday. He is the author of The Last Hero: A Life of Henry Aaron (2010), Juicing the Game (2005), and Shut Out: A Story of Race and Baseball in Boston (2002), as well as a number of books for middle-grade readers. His books have earned him two Casey Awards for best baseball book of the year. He was also the guest editor of the 2017 edition of The Best American Sports Writing. His latest book is the The Heritage: Black Athletes, a Divided America, and the Politics of Patriotism.
