Evan Fallenberg

Evan Fallenberg is an award-winning author, translator, and educator. Born in Ohio, he lived in France and Japan after college, before settling in Israel, where he got a job at the Museum of the Diaspora. He began teaching English and translating books—he has since translated everything from fiction to libretti to screenplays. Fallenberg began finding solace in writing fiction and eventually enrolled in a creative writing program at Vermont College, earning his MFA in 2001. He has taught writing, editing, and translation at Beit Berl College, Bar Ilan University, and City University of Hong Kong. Fallenberg published his first novel, Light Fell, in 2008. When We Danced on Water was published in 2011. His fiction and translations have earned him a Stonewall Book Award, Edmund White Award for Debut Fiction, and a PEN Translation Prize, among other honors. His latest book is The Parting Gift.
