Etan Thomas

Etan Thomas is a former NBA basketball player whose career has turned to writing and advocacy. He played in the NBA for nine seasons, from 2000 to 2011, playing for the Dallas Mavericks, the Washington Wizards, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Atlanta Hawks. In 2005, he published the poetry collection, More Than an Athlete, and in 2012, he published Fatherhood: Rising to The Ultimate Challenge. His work has also appeared in the Washington Post, Huffington Post, CNN, and ESPN. Thomas also appears as a contributor on MSNBC and a radio host for the show The Collision on WPFW 89.3FM. His latest book is We Matter: Athletes and Activism.
