Candelaria Silva-Collins

Candelaria Silva-Collins is a driving force behind the continuation and outreach of the arts in Boston. She is the coordinator of the Community Membership Program at the Huntington Theatre Company, as well as the program manager for the Fellowes Athenaeum Trust Fund of the Boston Public Library. She is also a part of the Arts and Business Council of Greater Boston, working as a coach for the Creative Entrepreneur Fellowship. Silva-Collins’s work has had the most impact on Roxbury. She was the first director of Arts, Culture, and Trade Roxbury (ACT Roxbury) and led the organization from 1998 to 2007. She developed and established  a range of cultural arts programs, including Roxbury Film Festival, Roxbury Open Studios, Roxbury in Motion (playwright mentorship), the Roxbury Literary Annual (two adult and four youth editions), and the Roxbury is Rich Holiday Shopping Guides. Silva-Collins is also an essayist and children's’ book author.
