Ben Bradlee Jr.

Ben Bradlee Jr. began his career as a journalist and spent twenty-five years at the Boston Globe. As deputy managing editor of the Globe, Bradlee supervised the Pulitzer Prize-winning Spotlight team investigation into sexual abuse by priests in the Boston archdiocese. In the film Spotlight, Bradlee was played by John Slattery, of Mad Men fame. Bradlee is the author of the New York Times bestseller The Kid: The Immortal Life of Ted Williams.  Bradlee’s latest work, The Forgotten: How the Abandoned People of One Pennsylvania County Elected Donald Trump and Changed America, is an in-depth examination of Trump voters in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, a swing county that played a pivotal part in the election of Donald Trump. After voting for Obama in two consecutive elections, the county went for Trump by a twenty-point margin. Bradlee’s extensive interviews of voters in Luzerne County reveal the divide between “high-output” urban Americans and “low-output” rural America.
