Doris Kearns Goodwin

Doris Kearns Goodwin is a world-renowned presidential historian, public speaker, and Pulitzer Prize-winning author. She is the author of six critically acclaimed and New York Times-bestselling books, including The Bully Pulpit: Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, and the Golden Age of Journalism and Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln, frequently mentioned as one of former President Obama's favorite books. Goodwin was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in history for No Ordinary Time: Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt: The Home Front in World War II. Goodwin is well known for her appearances and commentary on television, including Ken Burns's highly acclaimed PBS series The History of Baseball and most recently The Roosevelts: An Intimate History. She served as an assistant to President Johnson in his last year in the White House and later assisted him in the preparation of his memoirs. Goodwin’s newest book is Leadership: In Turbulent Times, which uses lessons from history to shed light on our current political moment.
